About

I realize that many who read this will think that I’m just another flake in the world who believes in ghosts. I don’t blame you one bit. If someone had told me things like this a few years ago, I wouldn’t have believed it either. I’ve heard it said that everyone is a skeptic, until something that they can’t explain happens to them.

************************************************************************

My wife’s sister had been telling me that there was something ‘unseen’ in her house for years. I didn’t believe a word of it.

I’ve spent my entire life believing that ghosts and spirits were a figment of overactive imaginations. I had been there many times and nothing out of the ordinary ever happened. I thought it was all bunk. That all changed a few years ago when my wife and I visited her sisters house for the Holidays. On that night, I felt  someone or something place a hand on my left shoulder from behind. I was standing in a doorway that leads from the dining room to the bedrooms, leaning against the door jamb. I was speaking at the time, to the group of people seated at the dining table and I thought someone had come from one of the bedrooms and wanted through that door. So, without stopping my statement, I just stepped out of the doorway to allow whoever it was to pass, but I didn’t look to see who it was. I stepped out of the doorway and finished my sentence, never taking my eyes off the people at the table. It dawned on me then that no one had come through the door so I assumed they were still standing there. When I turned to look, there was no one there.

The doorway that I was standing in separates the bedroom half of the house from the living area of the house. There was no other way to the bedroom part of the house except through that door. I searched the entire bedroom half of that house to see who it was that touched me and there was no one there.

Actually, that wasn’t the turning point. I couldn’t explain that incident so I just blew it off. A year or so later we were visiting again and I witnessed, with my own eyes from about 3 feet away, her dining room table shake and bounce all by itself. That incident sparked many, many evenings of ‘ghost hunting’. In those evenings I witnessed so many strange and unexplainable events that I could no longer call myself a nonbeliever.

One such event was when the dining room light suddenly came on. We were all in the living room and some people were upstairs so I thought someone was playing a trick on us and had turned the light on. I went into the dining room and turned the light off at the wall switch. I then sat down at the dining room table and watched the switch. Within about a minute, I SAW the switch flip back up and the light came back on. Light switches don’t just operate on their own.

I learned one thing with absolute certainty and that is…there is something out there that science has yet to explain. I also found out that if you go looking for ghosts and spirits…you will find them. I went looking and I not only found them, but they either followed me home, or they were always there and I didn’t know it. Now…I realize that they are everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. My backyard and sideyard is extremely active.

Most of the events that I experience are either in broad daylight or at night with the lights on. I often wonder why, in all the ‘ghost hunter’ shows on television, they turn the lights off. How can they see what’s going on around them with the lights off? I think they miss a lot by conducting their investigations in the dark.

I don’t know why all this started happening and I don’t know why it all started when it did. I do know that after dealing with this phenomena for as long as I have, most of the time, I can tell when I’m not alone. I can’t explain it very well, but I can just feel it. It’s like the air around me turns electric.

I started this blog on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007, to keep a log of the many paranormal events around me. I should have done this a long time ago.

  1. There’s a line in “Deathly Hallows” that really spoke to me, especially in regards to the paranormal and things we simply don’t understand:
“Of course its happening in your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” -Dumbledore

I can’t wait to read more of your experiences. :)

  2. You are so right. It’s easy to be a skeptic until you start experiencing these things. We have visitors in our home more on than off. They are most common in the lower level where I am sitting now. My awareness increased over this last year giving me experiences that were unbelievable and yet undeniable. I’m glad to have found your blog.
