It’s been unusually quiet these past weeks. With all the activity of the Holidays, maybe we were just not noticing things as much, but now we’ve settled down, back into our same old routine.

You may remember the problems we were having with the TV in the bedroom. Well, we got rid of that TV and put the one from the office in the bedroom until we could get another one. Once we got that TV out of the bedroom and put the office TV in the bedroom, the activity stopped, so we assumed it was just a faulty TV.

We finally bought a new one for the bedroom and I got my office TV back.

Now last night, as my wife was watching in the bedroom, the same old activity happened again, only this time with a twist. The new TV started turning on and off by itself, and also changing channels by itself. This is a brand new TV!

Also, we have satellite TV so there are two different remote controls in the bedroom right now, until I figure out how to program the remote to the new TV. So the fact that the TV was turning on and off, multiple times by itself, is completely separate from the satellite box changing channels by itself.

Also, yesterday morning I made my pot of coffee as usual and after the first cup, somehow the coffee maker turned off. This is a Bunn machine and it does not turn itself off. You have to physically turn the thing off. I am a coffee addict, and I know I didn’t turn the machine off.

I didn’t notice until I got my second or third cup and it was just lukewarm. I was the only one home when that happened.

  1. Our tv will turn up in volume without notice. My father used to keep the volume very high so we don’t know if it was him doing it or not. I had one weekend with very high energy around and that weekend I had two unexplainable incidents with the coffee maker where it kept brewing, water all over the place. This is your typical coffee maker where you cannot put more water in it than it will hold. I dumped out two large tumblers of coffee and when it was done, after what spilled on the floor, it stopped over the 12 cup mark.

  2. You aren’t just going to leave us sitting here wondering what’s happening are you?

  3. I’m sorry nrichford, I know it’s been boring lately, but nothing is happening. It’s like someone just turned off the switch and we get no more activity. I’m not sure why. It’s been quite awhile since it’s been this quiet for so long.
