My wife was out of town, with friends and family at an annual girls only event. They go to a semi local bed and breakfast just for a night out. I was alone at home, except for ’stink’ my cat. We were seated at opposite ends of the couch.

I knew something could possibly happen. I could feel that I wasn’t alone. As I sat watching the tube, I felt something lightly rub the top of my head, from the front to the back. I hate to admit it, but I screamed like a little girl and bolted off the couch. In doing so, I scared the hell out of the cat and he ran into the other room.

After looking around and finding nothing there, I sat back down and continued to watch television. After a few minutes the cat came back and again layed at the opposite end of the couch.  Nothing else happened for the next 15 or 20 minutes.

After about that length of time, I kept glancing to my right, to the loveseat because I thought I kept seeing some kind of movement there. Every time I looked there was nothing. This went on for about 5 minutes. I could still tell that I wasn’t alone.

Suddenly, my cat meowed. I thought he was asleep. I turned to my left to look at him and said “What?” and noticed that he wasn’t looking at me, he was looking at the loveseat. That made me turn back to my right and look at the loveseat but I still couldn’t see anything, and believe me, I know what to look for, but couldn’t see anything.

As I was looking, I felt the cat get up and jump down off the couch. I watched as he walked over to the loveseat, sat down on the floor in front of the loveseat and meowed again as if he could see someone sitting there. He then flopped down on his side, like he always does when he wants someone to pet him, and meowed again, still looking at the love seat.

That was it for awhile, then after I went to bed I heard footsteps almost all night. They woke me up many times and twice I got up and looked around. After that couple of times I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep.
